The Homer Chamber of Commerce has awarded two $500 scholarships and one $500 Brother Asiah Scholarship to the following 2008 high school graduating students. The two Chamber of Commerce scholarships were awarded to:
The $500 Brother Asiah Scholarship, administered by the Chamber of Commerce, was awarded to Elikonida Retov of Kachemak Selo School. There were a total of 14 applicants. The scholarships were open to any graduating student in the community. Those selected had above average grades and had shown significant community involvement. A committee of business members of the Homer Chamber of Commerce selected the named recipients. |
